Charles Arn (Ed.D.) lives in Glendora,
CA; a suburb of Los Angeles. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, grew up
in Portland, OR, and attended Seattle (WA) Pacific University from 1968
- 1972. He completed his Masters and Doctoral degrees from the University
of Southern California, majoring in Instructional Design and Technology.
Dr. Arn became actively involved
in the church growth movement as his father, Dr. Win Arn, began to pioneer
the study and application of church growth principles to North America
in the early 1970s. Upon completion of his doctoral work, Charles began
working full-time with his father at Church Growth, Inc., specializing
in research and new product development. In 1989 Charles assumed the presidency
of CGI upon his father's retirement.
In the past 27 years Dr. Arn has
written numerous articles in the field of church growth and is author
or co-author of 8 books. He has developed 14 different lay/clergy training
seminars and produced 10 "special topic" mediated study kits.
Dr. Arn is a widely traveled speaker, known for his creative presentations.
He is considered one of the leading authorities and spokespersons in the
field of church growth. He is currently serving as President of the American
Society of Church Growth, an association of professors, executives, pastors,
and consultants dedicated to the study of evangelism and church growth.
Dr. Arn is married. His wife, Ann,
teaches 7th grade in West Covina, CA. Dr. Arn and his family attend Glenkirk
Church in Glendora, CA.
