About the Seminar

How to Reach Unchurched People in Your Community is a one-day seminar that can help any church—of any size—be more effective at reaching people in its community.  Those who become involved in the outreach process shared in this seminar will have some of the most rewarding times of their life!  And—best of all—people are reached, and churches grow!

The outreach process taught in this seminar is called Ministry-based Outreach It is based on solid church growth research of how people come to Christ, along with dozens of examples of how churches are applying it in their own situation. One of the assumptions behind the seminar is that personal relationships are the “bridges of God” that bring people to faith and active church involvement. But one of the reasons many churches are not growing is simply a lack of relational contacts with unchurched people.

How to Reach Unchurched People seminar is a creative mix of instruction, small group processing, interactive quizzes, questions and answers, and individual church planning. The seminar leader integrates an abundance of PowerPoint slides with a comprehensive 40-page seminar manual to provide participants with an exceptional day of learning. The seminar includes seven sessions, and may be scheduled in one of three formats:

  • Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  
  • Sunday  2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. & Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

By the end of the seminar participants have a clear understanding of how people come to new faith, how the church grows, and the steps to applying the process in their church.  They will have learned the simple, yet powerful, process of Ministry-based Outreach and how to apply it.  By implementing this process, participating churches can expect to see:

  • More people in their church effectively and enjoyably involved in outreach
  • More contacts and connections made between members and non-members
  • More people coming to faith in Christ and becoming part of their church family
