Seminar Sessions
SESSION 1 — How the Unchurched Become Churched
Participants learn the six characteristics of new believers who come to faith…and why these ingredients must be integrated into the outreach strategy of a church.
SESSION 2 — “Ministry-based Outreach” — a Strategy that Works (and…it’s fun!)
A powerful 4-step approach to outreach is introduced, based on research of Presbyterian churches (and others) that are effectively reaching out to their community.
SESSION 3 — Identify your “Ministry-Focus Group” (Step 1)
Using a surprisingly simple, but effective and common-sense approach, participants learn how to identify various “people groups” in their community who are most receptive.
SESSION 4 — Connect With People Outside Your Church (Step 2)
Participants learn how to create “entry paths” in their church where friendships grow between members and non-members. It’s natural… enjoyable… and effective.
SESSION 5 — Strengthen Relationships With Your New Friends (Step 3)
Meaningful relationships don’t just happen. Participants learn guidelines for nurturing healthy, genuine relationships with their new unchurched friends.
SESSION 6 — Expand Your Contacts With New People (Step 4)
Once your entry paths are well-established, participants learn how to plan high-visibility events that connect their church with even more unchurched people.
SESSION 7 — Getting from Here to There
So, how do we get started? This session presents guidelines for beginning the process of becoming a more effective, intentional, disciple-making church.
